Apostolic Order-Part 1

Ephesians 4

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

When we hear the term Apostolic Order, what comes to mind of many most times

is a person. Some think it is a hierarchy system in the body i.e. who possesses the most power. Also, some may think it is that one person trying to control how everyone else operates.

However, all these reasonings are wrong. In fact, Apostolic order is God’s spiritual government for His people that includes the five-fold ministry (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers.)

As it says in Ephesians 4:11 the gifts are given to bring the church to the unity of the faith. That’s the order. That means that without this order, the church can never be unified because ministers will resort to pushing their own opinions and call it a revelation from God. But not so!

Submitting to the order doesn’t mean you are submitting to God. Saying yes does not mean you are submitting either. If Christ isn’t being formed in you, and you are unable to form Christ in someone else, that proves that you haven’t submitted to God’s order.

(Ephesians 3: 4-5)
