In Matthew 4:23, we learn that Jesus went about teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. Yet, in Matthew chapters 5-7, we hear a direct message from Him, a Sermon on a mount, to a multitude that had gathered. His initial words aimed to reveal those considered blessed or favored by God—presently known as The Beatitudes. Before delving into their depths, let's revisit some context.

The Jews had already encountered ministry and baptism from John the Baptist, preparing them for the Coming Messiah. John emphasized repentance, urging them to qualify for Holy Ghost baptism. Jesus extended this ministry, laying the groundwork for the Holy Ghost era. His sermon in Matthew 5-7 aimed to illuminate the necessary heart and character for Holy Ghost reception. Simultaneously, it unveiled an unprecedented standard of holiness. Only those adhering to this standard would escape hell, entering the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus' sermon held immense significance, marking his debut as a public speaker. In a single message, He announced a transition—the fulfillment of the law and the revelation of righteousness. Tomorrow, we'll explore the profound teachings of The Beatitudes. Join us on this insightful journey.

I learned so much from the scriptures you used to tell the preservative quality of salt. Saints are here on earth to preserve holiness. This is even more reason to be ready for the rapture. There won’t be a second chance to get to heaven!
