Before we study the details of what a lying emotion is, let us first begin with what is a lie.
A lie is a false statement made with the intention to deceive or mislead someone. It involves knowingly presenting information that is untrue or withholding the truth in a way that creates a false impression. Lies can take various forms, including:
Direct lies: Explicitly stating something false.
Omission: Leaving out important facts to create a misleading perception.
Exaggeration: Stretching the truth beyond what is accurate.
Half-truths: Blending truth with falsehood to deceive.
At its core, a lie involves intentional deception, often to gain an advantage, avoid consequences, or manipulate a situation.
Thus, a lying emotion is an emotion that has the power to deceive or mislead us from the truth of God’s word. Lying emotions are often accompanied by thoughts that present information that is either untrue, a direct lie, an omission, an exaggeration, or a half-truth.
There are two ways a lying emotion can be felt:
It can arise as a feeling or sensation resulting from the presence of the enemy, seeking to tempt you.
It can be an emotion a son of God chooses to walk in, where, due to disobedience, they lose faith in what God and His scriptures testify about them.
We must be mindful that just as God has a presence and an anointing, so does the devil. The presence of God allows us to feel a certain way, powerful enough to draw us out of our current state of mind and into the mental state God desires for us. Similarly, the devil, through his presence, can persuade us to feel a certain way. The key difference between the two is that God’s anointing works from within, while the presence of the enemy feels like an external influence, not a true reflection of how you genuinely feel.
We must discern these lying emotions and cast them down as lies, refusing to allow anything that contradicts the Word of the Lord to have influence over us.

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
