Our Weapon Against the Devil and the Kingdom of Darkness

A Journey through the New Testament: Unveiling the New Testament: A Journey of Revelation Thumbnail

2 Thessalonians 2:7

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

The scripture above scripture is quite powerful. Interestingly, the words “letteth” and “let,” as used in that scripture, mean to withhold or restrain, rather than to allow and the one doing the “letting” or restraining is the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is He who is restraining the full wrath of the devil from being unleashed upon the people of this world.

As a Christian, have you ever received bad news—news that someone is missing, someone is facing a serious health issue, someone’s mind is deteriorating, or even that someone is simply having a bad day?

What is your first response to that kind of news?

Is it not to pray?

Prayer is our weapon against the devil and the kingdom of darkness. We may not realize it, but the Holy Ghost uses the saints to preserve this dying world. The scripture says, we are the salt of the earth—we are what preserves. Every time we pray, we assist the Holy Ghost in restraining the enemy.

The sons of God have witnessed many miracles—bodies healed, minds restored, people encouraged, and best of all, souls saved! All of this is because the Holy Ghost is using us to prevent the enemy’s will from being fully unleashed on humanity.

"...until he be taken out of the way."

However, a time is coming when the Holy Ghost will be removed from the earth, or as the scripture says, taken out of the devil's way. It will be a dark time when mercy will no longer be extended to the inhabitants of the earth—a time when the devil will be cast down from his heavenly throne and confined to the earth.

Revelation 12:12

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

During this time, he will be exceedingly angry, knowing that his time is short before he is cast into the bottomless pit. As he unleashes his wrath first upon Israel and then upon the rest of mankind, the scripture warns that if God does not shorten those days—when Satan is allowed to punish the inhabitants of the earth—no flesh would survive (Mark 13:20).

Thankfully, in our present time, there is hope. ❤️

The rapture of the saints marks the moment when the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth. On the day of the rapture, all the saints will ascend to meet the Lord in the air. By that point, Satan will have already been cast down from his heavenly throne to the earth, preventing him from waging war against the raptured saints as they ascend through the heavenlies. Those raptured will be protected from the wrath of both Satan and God, which follows, because they entered the ark of safety while they had the chance.

If you do not have the Holy Ghost, seek to be filled with His Spirit. If you do, ensure you are walking in holiness so that you may be part of the rapture and escape the wrath to come.

In that time, when the devil throws his tantrum, seeking to destroy all flesh, God will pour out His wrath from heaven upon the earth, targeting Satan’s kingdom and those who follow him. After this, the raptured saints will return to earth with Christ. Together, we will destroy the armies of Satan and his Antichrist, binding him in the bottomless pit for a thousand years. After that, though he will make one final attempt to wage war, he will be cast into the lake of fire.

As for the righteous, they will rule and reign forever, in both the heavens and the earth, because, in the days of their trials and temptations, they chose to reject the devil rather than align with him. They remained salt and light in an evil world, allowing the Holy Ghost to use them to restrain the enemy and destroy his influence on the earth.

I encourage you to side with the Holy Ghost. Submit to Him, for if you do, you can only win.

A Prayer for You:

Father, I pray for the individual who has read this far. Bless them with Your Holy Spirit and keep them steadfast in the faith. Remove all weariness and anxiety. Cause them to trust You in all things. Use them in ministry to destroy the forces of darkness and glorify Your name. And in that day when Your Holy Spirit is “taken out of the devil’s way” or simply removed from the earth, may they ascend with You into eternal glory.

Bless them with all spiritual blessings and perseverance in Christ. Let them experience Your love this day. Thank You for Your love, Jesus. Amen.
