Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. - Romans 13:1
There is a truth concerning the occurrences upon the earth that we all must see; and it is that God is in control of all things. Absolutely everything happens by His ordination, this includes the selection of our Presidents, Prime Ministers, or any power that rules us. The truth is, if there is a power of any sort, God positioned them there for His eternal purpose. So whether they are excellent in their office or terrible, they will accomplish with perfection the purpose that God determined them to.
So where then does fear come in? Often we can get distracted by looking at all the affairs happening in the world. Some of them threaten our livelihood, our meals, our homes, our families. There are wars and rumours of wars. We fear in these times because we are depending on our government for the answers, but this is not the mind of God for His children.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? - Matthew 6:24-25
Answer this question. Who has been providing for you? God or your government? Has it been God or has it been money? Of a truth it is God that has provided for you all these years, and He has promised you food and raiment. Your government has not been keeping you, it has been God all this time. So whether a government prospers or fails, God knows how to provide for you.
Commit your soul to Him and want nothing else, but what He promises (food and clothing). But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content - 1 Tim 6:6-8. Be content with the things God promised you and you will accomplish your purpose for being here. For you are not of this world, neither are you of any earthen country or government - you are a citizen of heavenly Jerusalem - a son of God awaiting that blessed day of glory where your Abba will take you home.
So this I say, do not be caught up in this world, because you are in this world, but absolutely not of it. Do not war against each other concerning politics, neither be tied down in politics. God will have what He wants. Rather be concerned about heavenly politics. Where Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords and absolutely nothing happens in the earth unless it receives an ok from Him first!
So then, rest. While the world around you crumbles, you can have peace knowing you are not from here, but you are a pilgrim passing through.
And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule. - Dan 4:26
