Slave to Righteousness

All this week we have been identifying who we really are, learning about ourselves. Well, one thing is certain if we are saved we are no longer slaves to sin. Our walk is not one of battling sin. Sin is not worth our time, it is not worth the attention we give it. We should be more concerned/focused on our relationship with our Father.

Romans‬ ‭6:16-18‬

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”

I heard one of my Apostles say that when we speak a thing, it is subject to be tried. So that would mean that when negative thoughts come to my mind they are not necessarily my thoughts, they are suggestions from the devil to test my resolve in God. Now we have to be careful to discern whether they are our thoughts or not.

After we have examine ourselves and we discern the suggestion we can simply cast it down. It does not have to go any further. Sometimes we allow the suggestions to knock us off our game. We think, how can I be thinking about this, and we allow the devil's plan to take effect. The aim is to get you to doubt either your salvation or your walk in God. This is one of the biggest tricks of the devil. My friend Kashief and I were talking one day and he said to me, "you know, the devil believes in the power that we have through salvation.” I was astonished as I realized there was truth in what he said and I thought well that is why he tries so hard to get us to doubt who we are in God.

The devil will bring to your memory past sins, trying to get us to relive them but what he will never do is remind you of how u felt afterward. He will not remind you of the reason you wanted to stop and turn from it so badly.

Saints let us always remember who we are, never doubting, not looking to the left nor to the right but straight ahead, eyes fixed on the prize, Jesus.
