We are on the final day of the 5 day fast. Once again the Lord has kept us through I time of fasting before Him. It is so important that we be disciplined enough to live a fasted life before the Lord.
1 Peter 4:1
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
There is a double whammy in the scripture above. First of all, to suffer in the flesh is to cease from sin. It keeps you unspotted from this world. Fasting is one of those forms of suffering. Secondly, Christ suffered for us in the flesh, thus suffering is not only for ourselves but for others. It is a sign of love. When you fast, keep people before the Lord, and the Lord will anoint you for their sake.
Thus, if Christ was given to a life of suffering, so should we. He fasted 40 days and nights, then went into cities with great power. Likewise, we must afflict our soul that we may be able to love upon mankind in whichever way necessary. Let us not be selfish, but instead, let us live a fasted life.
