'Thought War' is a term, coined by Apostle Mary Banks, to connote a battle in the mind; between two ruling thoughts. One thought is one that motivates the subject to obey God when the other inspires the same to sin. The back and forth of thoughts, mixed with the indecision of the individual defines the thought war. However, is this something that a saint should ever endure?
I think this is an excellent question to consider. Does God expect us ever to feel a struggle to obey Him, or is it that when temptation comes, we should instantly respond with righteousness? I will respond to this with the following scripture.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. - Gal 5:16
This is a reality that we must face; if you walk in the Spirit it is impossible to ever sin! Consider this deeply today, and challenge any nonchalance in your heart regarding sin. Know that you can overcome the thought war!
